Education consulting firm ASR Analytics has debuted a new suite of services focused on the reporting and analysis of accountability data in colleges and universities. The new Accountability Framework for Higher Education (AFHE) is designed to provide a "sustainable reporting foundation for decision making" using BI methodologies.
According to ASR, "With so many accountability initiatives in higher education it is becoming increasingly difficult for Institutional Research departments to keep up. Talented analysts are spending an exorbitant amount of time extracting often duplicate information from transactional systems to provide to these accountability initiatives in the proper format. Although the information produced through these initiatives is extremely valuable, it often goes unused by institutional decision makers as it is not stored in a format that makes it conducive for strategic reporting and analysis."
The AFHE provides a framework for strategic reporting and analysis using data from IPEDS, Common Data Set, U-CAN, College Portrait, Achieving the Dream, and Access to Success. It provides automatic extraction, transformation, and loading of transactional data; interactive reports; customizable scripts based on rules; dashboards for tracking data against institutional goals; and forecasting tools for retention and recruitment.
