WeiTel Partners with KnowledgeLink To Provide Hands-on Training

6/23/2008

KnowledgeLink and WeiTel have announced they've partnered to provide training and certification courses for independent contractors providing installation and support technologies to the cable industry.

The companies will develop and deliver a curriculum through hands-on and instructor-led courses, and will provide job aids in the form of video files for personal digital devices, including iPods and MPEG-capable phones.

The initial courses will be delivered at WeiTel's 1,500-square-foot training facility in King of Prussia, PA and will be led by subject matter experts from KnowledgeLink. A distance learning option will also be offered via videoconferencing.

"The extensive knowledge, experience and capability that Jay [Jankus] and his team at KnowledgeLink bring, combines with WeiTel's engineering and deployment expertise to deliver a comprehensive training and certification package," noted Bruce Weintraub, President and CEO of WeiTel, in a prepared statement. "This will facilitate enabling services delivery of new technology platforms such as Business Services, Cellular Backhaul and many other triple and quad-play services. WeiTel delivers solutions, KnowledgeLink delivers learning; this combination makes for a powerful market motivator."

A Business Services Installation and Support Course is scheduled for September, with courses in RF architecture, data, and wireless technologies to be offered on a rotating basis.
