Attivio University Launched To Promote Unified Information Access

6/26/2008

Attivio Inc. has announced a new initiative designed to recruit and retain talent, as well as evangelize the emerging field of unified information access. The company has hired Rodney Alvarez to head the program.

Dubbed Attivio University, the program will combine formal internal training and professional development with a range of university outreach initiatives, including intern and co-op acquisition, promotion and integration of course curriculum, and target scholarships, among others.

"Information access is an evolving technology that is taking many companies by storm. We are launching Attivio University to secure and train top-level talent within the company and also develop wide-spread awareness and understanding of the technology in the academic environment," said Ali Riaz, CEO of Attivio, in a prepared statement. "We are pleased to add Rodney Alvarez to the Attivio team to manage these initiatives and to develop robust training and development programs. It is people like Rodney--and programs like Attivio University--that enable more people to learn the value of information access technology and ultimately help bring new innovations to the industry."

In addition to developing curriculum and training opportunities, Alvarez and his team will build and manage relationships with university leaders to help promote both Attivio, and the field of unified information access.
