Ingram Micro Offers Online Training To Increase Partner Experience

IT solutions provider Ingram Micro has announced a new series of "Live Online" training certifications and virtual labs, offered through its subsidiary, VPN Dynamics. The courses are intended to provide high-quality training opportunities while cutting travel expenses typically associated with similar offerings.

According to Ingram Micro, VPN Dynamics will offer courses from a variety of technology manufacturers, including Citrix, Juniper Networks, and SonicWALL, to name a few. The courses will be held in real-time, with classes limited to a max of six participants, and cover topics from networking to security to virtualization, among others. As an added benefit, Ingram Channel Partners can resell the instructor-led courses to their own customer base, providing additional opportunities for revenue.

"The right training and certifications can make all the difference for solution providers who are actively selling higher-end technologies, such as network infrastructure, security and server virtualization," said Ken Bast, vice president, vendor management, Ingram Micro U.S., in a prepared statement. "Whether it is better pricing, more qualified leads, or stronger support resources such as MDFs and field engineers, there's no question that vendors invest in the partners who invest in them. Equally important is the business value training brings to solution providers by way of expertise, advantage, and the keen ability to close deals and align the business need with the right technology solution."

According to the company, the courses carry VPN Dynamics' "Live Online Guaranty," a voucher program offering in-person classes to any participant not satisfied with the Web-based training. The in-person classes are held at the company's training facilities in Santa Clara.
