VMware has announced new education services and certification programs designed for IT professionals implementing the company's virtualization technologies. The new programs are designed for systems administrators, design architects, and managers, among others, and include the VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX), Live Online, and Flex Online courses.
According to the company, the new VCDX course is an advanced certification designed for architects and consultants responsible for enterprise deployments of VMware's virtual infrastructure. The Live Online and Flex Online courses are designed to help mitigate rising travel costs by providing students the ability to attend classes virtually. Currently, the Live Online and Flex Online courses are available for "VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure," one of three courses needed to become a VMware Certified Professional.
"The huge business and technical benefits that customers are achieving with VMware virtualization are driving enormous demand for more qualified professionals who can implement and support virtualized environments," said Jason Martin, vice president of professional services, VMware, in a prepared statement. "These courses and certifications are designed to enhance the pool of experts who can help customers achieve the full benefits of implementing VMware."
According to VMware, education courses for the company's products are available in over 60 countries, at hundreds of training locations through VMware and VMware Authorized Training Centers (VATC).
