Carnegie Learning recently announced it has reached sales in excess of $5 million for it's newly released Georgia Mathematics 1 and 2 curricula. The customized solutions, designed specifically to meet new high school math requirements being implemented this fall, has been adopted by more than 130 middle and high schools across the state.
Districts purchasing the Georgia Mathematics curricula receive Carnegie Learning textbooks, as well as professional development services. To help augment the program, some districts have also purchased the company's Cognitive Tutor software. The platform, which the company describes as an "intelligent software program," adapts to the user's knowledge of mathematics, providing differentiated instruction that is catered to the individual student.
"The higher performance standards in Georgia present an exceptional opportunity for our company," said Dennis Ciccone, CEO of Carnegie Learning, in a prepared statement. "In addition to having one of the few legitimately research-based math curricula, we are committed to partnering with administrators and teachers to ensure that they receive the support and Professional Development to be successful for the long-term."
According to Carnegie Learning, 55 districts have implemented the Georgia Mathematics program, including Bartow, Clayton, Douglas, and Forsyth, among others.
