Sun Expands Channel Resources, Provides New Incentives

8/27/2008

Sun Microsystems has announced new enhancements to its Partner Advantage Program, including changes to its Partner Growth Fund (PGF) that provide North American channel partners with additional marketing funds, as well as an expanded incentive program.

According to the announcement, the PGF now includes a Demand Generation module that allows partners to use their membership level to readily determine the amount of funds available to them for resources and training. Partners earn additional marketing funds based on a percentage of their total revenue.

Additionally, the company's new Business Incentive includes up-front discounts on Sun product sales to new Sun customers. The company has also announced a streamlined rebate structure, as well as a New Business Rebate, designed to help promote sales into new and historically untapped markets.

"Sun is committed to driving demand for our partner community, which is essential to our pathway to dynamic growth," said Wendy Wheeler, vice president, North American Field Marketing, Sun Microsystems, in a prepared statement. "We are always looking to augment the portfolio of resources we provide to our partners. With the marketing and new business incentives, Sun is making it easier for our US-based channel partners to increase their revenue generating opportunities and expand Sun's presence in the marketplace."

Other benefits of the Partner Advantage Program include access to a partner directory, syndicated catalogues, as well as access to Sun's Try and Buy program, enabling businesses to test the company's products before making a decision to buy.
