Alternative Partners with Double-Take, Gives Channel Partners Access to Virtualization Solutions

Alternative Technologies has announced an agreement with Double-Take Software that will allow the company to provide its channel partners access to Double-Take's suite of solutions, designed to help organizations protect their virtualized environments.

Software titles being offered to the channel include Double-Take Virtual Recovery Assistant, Double-Take for VMware Infrastructure, and Double-Take Livewire. According to the company, Virtual Recovery Assistant provides simplified migration to VMware ESX virtual machines through automated provisioning and reduced downtime. The Double-Take for VMware Infrastructure solution offers protection between two VMware hosts, as well as allowing for central management of multiple virtual machines. Finally, Livewire uses a single recover server to provide continuous backup of multiple system images, providing quick recovery from up-to-date system snapshots.

"Double-Take Software solutions enable our channel partners to provide comprehensive virtual solutions in managing the full physical to virtual conversion life-cycle management process," said Tom Zorn, executive vice president, Alternative Technology, in a prepared statement. "Double-Take minimizes downtime, provides in-guest hypervisor disaster recovery protection once the conversion is complete and a low-cost full server protection solution with on-demand recovery for lower-tier servers."

According to the announcement, Alternative Technology provides solutions for value-added resellers throughout North America. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions.
