Systems integrator HowTec Video Security Systems recently deployed ioimage's video analytics platform and video appliances as part of an overall Mobile Surveillance solution, designed to monitor and protect a new $104.5 million construction site for Poway Unified School District in Southern California.
Contracted by education builder, Barnhart, HowTec took the ioimage products and integrated them with a variety of other equipment, including a DVR, Pelco Spectra IV camera system, cellular router, GPS, and back-up battery system. Three mobile trailers have been outfitted with the solution, providing full-time surveillance of PUSD's 64-acre construction site, producing video alerts that are monitored remotely.
"ioimage video analytics appliances are a viable alternative to sensor-based surveillance technology, providing a reliable and cost-effective security solution," said John Whiteman, Vice President & General Manager of ioimage North America, in a prepared statement. "We're excited to be part of the Poway Unified School District construction project and are looking forward to future collaboration with HowTec."
According to the announcement, the mobile surveillance trailers are expected to save Barnhart approximately $100,000 in security expenses, eliminating the need for physical, on-site guards.
