Cisco has recently announced a new channel program intended to help foster global partner collaboration in order to serve multinational customers.
Dubbed the Cisco Global Resale Agent, the new program provides partners with "policies, processes, and tools" aimed at helping them select local Cisco resellers to complete business transactions in another country on their behalf.
According to the announcement, partners locate and collaborate with one another through the Cisco Partner Exchange environment. Once the "host" partner completes a transaction with a new multinational client, the host's chosen local partner buys the necessary technology from Cisco and invoices the customer directly.
According to Cisco, prior to the development of the program, multinational customers had to manage sales relationships with resellers in each country of operations. The Global Resale Agent model is intended to simplify the deployment of new technology for these clients, as well as streamline the service and support process.
