Follett Expands eBook Offerings with 4 New Distribution Agreements

1/5/2009

Follett Digital Resources has recently signed four new publishers to e-book distribution agreements, bringing the total number of publishers under contract to a little more than 200.

According to the announcement, the new agreements push the number of library titles available through Follett's e-distribution channels to more than 51,000. The additions are aimed at expanding the number and type of resources available to students for a variety of applications. Companies signing the contracts include Nova Press, Oxford University Press, Temple University Press, and Zed Books Ltd.

"Students can get homework help at any time, can locate a book they'll need to review during school tomorrow, read for pleasure on their own time and connect with eBooks during summertime or a holiday break period," said Beau Clark, Vice President of Product Management, in a prepared statement. "It's a plus for schools, libraries and students to have access to new eBook titles from these four publishers coming on-stream and available through Follett's K-12 and public library channels."

Follett Digital Resources distributes its eBook titles through parent company Follett's Titlewave and Titletales ecommerce sites. The distribution system is made up of digital warehousing, preview capabilities, digital rights management technology, and a "virtual shelve" system.
