Storage virtualization provider DataCore Software has entered into a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro. Under the agreement, Ingram will distribute the DataCore line of software through channels in North and South America.
According to the announcement, DataCore's storage virtualization solutions run on all standard physical or virtual servers and start at around $10,000. Products to be offered through Ingram include DataCore's SANmelody, aimed at the needs of SMB customers; and SANsymphony, intended for enterprise customers. Both solutions provide automated storage management, disaster recovery, and thin provisioning, with Continuous Data Protection (CDP) available with the SANsymphony solution.
"We are very pleased to enter into this agreement with DataCore," said Jodi Honore, vice president, vendor management, for Ingram Micro, in a prepared statement. "DataCore is an enabling software product that our resellers can add to their arsenals, providing their customers with a solution set to virtualize their disks and achieve greater utilization of their storage investment."
According to DataCore, the company's storage virtualization solutions are targeted toward organizations utilizing virtual machine and virtual desktop environments.
