Computer peripheral company Roland DGA has recently implemented several Microsoft technologies aimed at improving a range of operational efficiencies.
According the announcement, Roland DGA made the move to an integrated set of Microsoft solutions in an effort to provide better business tools for its employees and partner network. Systems deployed by the company include Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007, and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. The company has also consolidated various databases into a single database supported by Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The new setup streamlines the data entry process as well as rights management for partner portal access.
Additionally, Roland DGA worked with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner speakTECH to develop and deploy internal and external team sites aimed at improving employee, dealer, and customer collaboration.
"A company and its channel partners need to operate as one organization in how they market and sell to customers," said Drew Gude, director, U.S. High-Tech and Electronics Industry Solutions at Microsoft Corp., in a prepared statement. "Companies that can quickly and effectively collaborate with their channel partners in selling situations have a competitive advantage that should drive both improved business performance and increased levels of customer satisfaction. The objective of Microsoft and its partners is to provide the IT platform and sales effectiveness business solutions that make such a competitive advantage a reality."
In addition to the recently deployed solutions, Roland also plans to roll out a social computing platform in 2009 aimed at further improving communication and collaboration among all of the company's stakeholders.
