In a recent announcement, GlobalScholar, parent company of Excelsior Software, confirmed the acquisition of CO-based ExLogica. Through the purchase, Excelsior will integrate ExLogica's Silk Student Information System and Silk Scheduler with its Pinnacle Suite of applications.
The Pinnacle suite is a content and curriculum management and standards alignment system that encompasses student records management, attendance, grade reporting, test score reporting, and discipline tracking, and class and activity scheduling tools.
"For districts facing decreasing budgets, the total cost of managing and coordinating all the legacy programs associated with monitoring and keeping track of each student is a critical issue," said Kal Raman, CEO of GlobalScholar, in a prepared statement. "The Pinnacle Suite has a far less total cost of ownership than the fragmented alternative. And the TCO will only continue to decrease as we develop, add and combine further tools administrators and educators need within one complete learning platform."
According to GlobalScholar, ExLogica will remain headquartered in Lakewood, CO and will maintain its current organizational structure. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
