Blackboard and Acxiom Partner in College Verification Program

Education technology provider Blackboard and the risk mitigation division of marketing giant Acxiom have teamed up to create a "better mousetrap" in the arena of student identity verification at United States colleges and universities.  The alliance will enable institutions to deploy a verification program within their e-learning platform that maintains the integrity and privacy of student information.

Acxiom's existing risk identity verification system, already widely used for authenticating bank transactions, requires no hardware. 

In collaborating on the Blackboard platform, the partners aim to create a system that maintains students' individual security, authenticating each individual student identification by asking one or more preset questions only the student would know. 

The goal is safer online access and e-learning for every college student.
