Oracle Partners With Unicon, Integrates PeopleSoft with Standards-Based LMS Platforms

2/27/2009

Oracle has recently selected higher education software consulting firm Unicon to provide implementation services for the PeopleSoft Enterprise Student Administration Integration Pack (SAIP).

According to the announcement, under the partnership Unicon will provide installation, configuration, and deployment services using SAIP to help customers integrate PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions with standards-based learning management systems (LMS). Implementations are said to include both major vendor products as well as open source solutions. The company will also offer services for products that do not conform to standards.

"Oracle and Unicon have successfully collaborated on a number of technology initiatives in the past, which is why we chose them with confidence as a third-party service provider for SAIP," said Curtis Barnes, vice president, Education & Research Product Strategy, Oracle, in a prepared statement. "Their in-depth knowledge and broad experience with implementing and integrating enterprise systems in an academic environment is well recognized in the industry."

According to Oracle, SAIP offers a Web services-based interface aimed at helping institutions integrate their enterprise systems more efficiently, with the goal of reducing overall costs. The company plans to announce specific SAIP service options at the Alliance 2009 Higher Education User Group Conference in Anaheim, CA in late March.
