CORAID has recently joined the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. The new relationship is aimed at helping the company integrate its EtherDrive SAN solutions with VMware's virtualization software.
According to the announcement, the partnership will benefit the companies' mutual customers by ensuring that their respective technologies work together. VMware and CORAID expect customer benefits to include reduced storage costs for virtualized environments, as well as increased efficiencies for data storage and protection.
"By enabling VMware ESX 3.5 hosts to work natively with EtherDrive storage, VMware users now have access to an affordable fast SAN storage choice that other virtualization environments are already enjoying," said James Kemp, CEO of CORAID, in a prepared statement. "Affordable fast SAN storage is a highly effective way to take full advantage of VMware Infrastructure features like VMotion, and CORAID's EtherDrive products can support these features in a uniquely affordable way."
The VMware TAP program is made up of more than 900 members worldwide and provides technical support, marketing services, and access to VMware tools and resources.
