3/11/2009

Microsoft this week kicked off Microsoft Skills Week, a national initiative with more than 175 partner-led events aimed at helping IT pros improve their skill set and achieve Microsoft Certified Professional status.

During the event, participants will have access to Microsoft technical specialists, discounts on training resources and certifications, live demos, and condensed study sessions. According to the company, the week-long event is intended to help professionals increase their marketability in a difficult economic climate.

"These events accelerate skills development that will differentiate individuals, organizations and our partners," said Deborah Ziegenhorn, director of United States Partner Skills Development at Microsoft, in a prepared statement. "By working with Microsoft Certified Partners for Learning Solutions, Microsoft is enabling these partners to extend their market reach, reduce costs, increase profitability and deliver innovative solutions that help customers realize their full potential."

Microsoft Skills Week runs through March 13 and will be followed by a series of events leading up to Tech*Ed in May. Event information can be found here.
