Tyler Technologies Expands K-12 Offerings with PulseMark Acquisition

3/27/2009

Tyler Technologies has recently completed the acquisition of St. Louis-based information warehouse solution provider PulseMark.

The acquisition will add PulseMark's District Pulse data warehouse technology to Tyler's lineup of K-12 solutions. The product is intended to help education and government institutions aggregate raw data "in a meaningful way" to aid in information-based decision making.

"We welcome PulseMark to the Tyler family and are excited about the potential of its Information Warehouse Solutions. This acquisition will complement not only our K-12 school solutions but also our broader public sector solutions," explained John S. Marr, Jr., Tyler's president and chief executive officer, in a prepared statement. "By accumulating data from various application software systems used by an organization, combining that data and generating highly processed management information, District Pulse has the ability to very positively change the way schools and the public sector do business. This will have tremendous appeal to current clients as well as prospects."

According to the announcement, PulseMark brings a significant customer base to the acquisition, with operations focused in Georgia and Missouri. Prior to the deal PulseMark worked closely with Tyler on joint projects for the company's School Information System platform.
