Acer has recently announced updates to its K-12 Seed Unit channel initiative aimed at helping drive sales for the company's VAR partners. More than 1,200 education customers and VAR partners participated in the company's last Seed Unit program.
According to the announcement, the program gives schools the ability to "test-drive" an Acer Aspire AOD150-1165 Netbook via a free 30-day trial. The no-obligation program runs from now until Aug. 31 and is open to all K-12 schools and districts in the United States.
Users are required to participate in two conference calls during the trial period to provide product feedback. The trial Netbook can be returned at no cost at the end of the 30-day period or purchased by the school at a 50 percent discount.
Participants in the program will also be entered into a drawing to win a computer lab consisting of 30 Aspire One Netbooks, 30 Veriton desktops, and 30 Acer 17-ince V Series LCDs. Three additional winners will receive 30 Acer Netbooks.
