Company Ordered To Stop 'Misleading' Students on College Admission Sites

A federal judge is ordering a "clean-up" of language presented on a company's Web sites that help students apply to colleges after a competitor filed suit charging that the Web sites deceived users. CollegeNET filed the suit against XAP, citing patent infringement and unfair competition. Peralta CC Completes Transition to PeopleSoft ERP

Peralta Community College District has completed a migration from legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications to PeopleSoft 8.9, according to the professional services company hired to guide the college on its implementation. The State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport has learned reported that a laptop belonging to an employee at SunGard Higher Education, a software company that provides IT services to the university system, was reported stolen March 13. The school learned about the theft April 14 and received copies of the compromised files April 17. Read More

Northwestern University has selected the Workforce Central suite from Kronos to manage employee hours and costs. Like many universities, the school has a complex workforce that includes a large number of student employees working at its campuses in Chicago and Evanston, IL. The software will also track absenteeism for the university's 10,000-plus employees, including absences that qualify under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Read More

Skire Unifier provides collaboration mechanisms and control and visibility into individual capital projects and across a school's project and facilities portfolio.
