Telecom, Services, Wireless To Drive Education IT Spending to $56.2 Billion by 2012

In the United States, IT spending in education will reach $47.7 billion by the end of this year and is expected to top $56 billion by 2012, according to a new report from Compass Intelligence, an IT consultancy and market research firm. Reliance Rolls Out SchoolMessenger to Mobile County Public Schools

Reliance Communications has contracted with the Mobile County Public School System to implement a district-wide parent notification system that will help reach the families of more than 63,000 students at 98 schools throughout the county. Trussville City School District in Alabama has selected Bit9 Parity to secure its computers, replacing application control technology from Lumension Security. The new school district, with five schools and 4,150 students, created a state-of-the art, technology-focused curriculum that uses blogs, podcasts, and other Web 2.0 approaches as part of the learning process.
