12/9/2008

Aruba Networks has recently released three new reference guides aimed at helping network integrators efficiently plan and deploy wired and wireless networks in a variety of settings.

According to the announcement, the new documents include "best practices architectures" for wireless networks deployed in a campus setting, wired networks using role-based access control, and wireless networks installed for a variety of retail applications. Titles include:

  • Campus Wireless Networks Validated Reference Design v3.3, geared toward multi-building environments that provide access to "thousands of users";
  • Wired Multiplexer (MUX) Validated Reference Design v3.3, intended to help integrators make use of Aruba's role-based security capabilities; and
  • Retail Wireless Networks Validated Reference Design v3.3, aimed at a wide range of retail facility types.

"Aruba's reference guides are intended to lower installation and maintenance costs by providing validated reference designs that integrators can use to plan, deploy, and support Aruba wireless LANs and security solutions," said Chuck Lukaszewski, Aruba's Director of Professional Services, in a prepared statement. "Our validated reference designs include product recommendations, network layouts, configuration procedures, and deployment best practices for common customer applications. Each Aruba design is thoroughly tested in a lab environment by Aruba engineers. By using these proven designs, our customers are able to rapidly deploy Aruba solutions with the assurance that they will perform and scale as expected."

The new reference guides are currently available for download at the company's Web site here.
